Client: East Park Court Residential Care Home, Wolverhampton
Overview
When East Park Care Home began creating a memorial garden in honour of passed residents, they envisioned a peaceful space that encouraged reflection and remembrance.
To help bring this vision to life, Steelway proudly donated a bespoke bridge to be used as a decorative centre piece within the garden.
We collaborated with East Park closely and came up with multiple designs for them to choose from, that best brought their ideas to life. By using our experienced design and Engineering team, we created a bespoke bridge that fit perfectly within the memorial garden. For the finishing touches we added a touch of class with a personalised plaque.
A Gift with Meaning
East Park Care Home expressed deep appreciation for the bespoke bridge solution provided by Steelway. The care home management commended Steelway for their collaborative approach throughout the design and installation process. The bridge has become a focal point in the outdoor space - contributing to a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors.
Joanne Unitt – Home Manager said;
“It means so much to the residents, when they enter a care home it can feel like a closed door. Having a beautiful garden is so important, the residents lit up when they saw the bridge and it brought back lots of memories."
Carol Bennett – Maintenace Operative at East Park Court added:
“The face of the residents said it all. Some of these residents rarely come outside. So, seeing them out together admiring the bridge is great to see.”
Steelway’s donation of this memorial was part of the company’s commitment to supporting meaningful causes. With nearly 100 years of history, we are proud to continue to support local businesses and communities with Wolverhampton and the Black Country.
At Steelway we believe in using our skills and resources to make a difference. This project reflects our commitment to our local community.
Alan Curtis - Managing Director of Steelway added;
"When we were approached to support East Park Court with a memorial bridge, we saw it as a meaningful way to give back to the local community. What made this project especially rewarding was that it was designed, manufactured, and managed by employees on our STEP programme. It gave them the chance to take full ownership - from concept to completion - and demonstrated the skills and dedication of those who represent the future of our workforce."
East Park Court's devoted team provide residential care for people living with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia.
