Celebrating 40 Years of Dedication: Simon Hammond

Simon Hammond has been an integral part of the Steelway family for an incredible four decades and today we honour his 40th anniversary with the business.

Simon’s progression through the company is a true testament to his relentless work ethic, adaptability and deep understanding of our industry. His journey began as a YTS apprentice, balancing hands-on training with day-release studies in Engineering at the City of Wolverhampton College.

Since those early days, Simon has mastered almost every aspect of what we do, building a phenomenal career timeline that includes:

• 6 years as a Fabricator: Expertly constructing steelwork, flooring, and handrails.
• 5 years as a Supervisor: Leading our handrail department with precision and expertise.
• 2 years in Technical Sales: Sharing his on-the-ground, practical knowledge directly with our clients.
• 4 years in the Drawing Office: Working closely with the team to develop and refine our CAD database.
• 6 years as a Site Surveyor: Taking detailed measurements and translating them to expertly instruct our draughtsmen.

From the shop floor to the drawing office and out on site, Simon’s knowledge of our operations is truly unmatched.
