Purchasing & Quality Executive

Steelway group are a market leading provider of access metalwork solutions, Fencing, and security products across a diverse range of sectors, notably utility, transport, nuclear and local authority markets.

Originally the company was established over 90years ago, and in December 2020 new owners took over the business and along with a new senior management team are now beginning to implement an exciting growth plan for the group, requiring the expansion of the design team within the Steelway division

We are looking to recruit a full time Purchasing and Quality Executive.

Reporting into the Purchasing and Quality manager, the role would suit an individual with a thirst for learning and wanting to build a career in a fast-moving business. The candidate will shadow the manager with a view to in time taking a lead with administrating the company’s day to day purchasing requirements and supporting the Quality manager in the compliance management of the companies’ systems and products.

The role offers a great opportunity to learn 2 different roles and provides exposure to nearly all aspects of a complex manufacturing business.

Duties include:

  • Using the company ERP system
  • Co-ordinating the business purchases
  • Assisting with goods-in process
  • Working with quality and audit systems
  • Assist the Quality manager with instpections
  • Using Microsoft computer software

We are looking to train and develop the right candidate, as such no previous experience is necessary, however a candidate with experience working in an office environment would be advantageous, and any ERP or purchasing experience is a bonus.

Salary – £16,000-24,000, dependent upon experience

Senior Sales & Estimating Engineer

We are looking to recruit a full time Senior sales estimator with experience in access metalwork, structural steelwork to complement our established team of skilled & experienced estimators.

Reporting into the Sales & Estimating Director, candidates will be responsible for producing estimates & detailed quotations, from information provided by clients or site scoping visits. Predominantly working from customers layout drawings, sketches & specifications.

Additional duties include:

  • Liaise with the project team, client, architect & structural engineers to gather details & produce bespoke quotations to suit their requirements.
  • Maintain files & records throughout.
  • Attend internal or external meetings.

Successful candidates shall ideally possess the following:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar role.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings & have a working knowledge of engineering practices is essential.
  • IT Proficient with Microsoft office, an understanding of excel & word essential.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of structural steelwork, open mesh flooring & handrails would be advantageous but not compulsory.
  • Knowledge of Revit & BIM models would be advantageous but not compulsory.

Senior CAD Technician

We are looking to recruit a full time Senior CAD Technician with experience in structural steelwork to complement our established team of CAD Technicians.

Reporting into the Design Office Manager, candidates will be responsible for producing design layouts, general arrangements and full manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor.

Additional duties include:

  • Liaise with the project team, client, architect & structural engineers to gather details & produce bespoke drawings to suit their requirements.
  • Maintain files & records throughout.
  • Attend internal or external project design meetings.

Successful candidates shall ideally possess the following:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar role.
  • Experience of using AutoCAD & Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks.
  • Experience of producing accurate drawings to enable effective construction.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
  • IT Proficient with Microsoft office.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of open mesh flooring & handrails would be advantageous but not compulsory.
  • Knowledge of Revit & BIM models would be advantageous but not compulsory.

We are looking to recruit a full time sales estimator, for our access metalwork, structural steelwork division to complement our established team of skilled & experienced estimators. No direct experience required though similar previous work would help.

Reporting into the Sales & Estimating Director, candidates, would be trained as necessary and would grow to produce estimates & detailed quotations, from information provided by clients or site scoping visits. Predominantly working from customers layout drawings, sketches & specifications.

Additional duties will grow to include:

  • Liaise with the project team, client, architect & structural engineers to gather details & produce bespoke quotations to suit their requirements.
  • Maintain files & records throughout.
  • Attend internal or external meetings.

Successful candidates shall ideally possess the early stages of the following:

  • Ability to read engineering drawings & have a working knowledge of engineering practices.
  • IT Proficient with Microsoft office, an understanding of excel & word.
  • Communication skills.
